Going Under the Knife

So Austin will go under the knife tomorrow for his 7th set of ear tubes.  That's right...7 sets!  They will also take his adenoids out for the second time (they have grown back from the first time) and have his tonsils removed.  Best part for Mom-hopefully no more ear infections.  Best part for Austin- potentially two weeks out of school with Mom "home schooling", endless popsicles, a new game boy game and new books.  The doctor told us that we would have to keep him "still" for  almost two weeks....what????  This is going to be interesting.  Stay tuned...

Sweet boy! That has me concerned. Charlie is on his 6th ear infection since October and if tubes don't do the trick, I'll be so sad for the little guy.

As for Austin, we wish him well! I hope this will do the trick for him though. That would be so miserable.

I just 'found' your blog again. I thought I had added it to my blog list/ blog roll so that I knew when everyone posted something new, but apparently I didn't. So I have been out of the loop for a few months. Your Puerto Rico trip looked amazing. Makes me jealous :) Good luck with the upcoming surgery. At least Austin has a few things to look forward to.

My poor baby! I didn't even know that adenoids could grow back. Every time I get strep, I think about how I wish I had gotten my tonsils out when I was a kid. Hopefully he'll enjoy all the ice cream.
I'm so happy that you updated. I've been out of town, so this is the first time I've checked in a while and there were so many great entries. I love the Halloween costumes (especially Dorothy - I might have to steal that idea) and I'm so happy for you guys that you got to take that trip to PR.

Ok I can so relate. Cali had tubes 6 times and her adnoids grew back too. Crazy! I didn't know that could happen, it must just be our family. She finally got her tonsils out last year over spring break so she ended up not missing too much school. It was hard beause the weather was nice and we had just gotten a trampoline the week before. I had to threaten her with her life not to jump or do flips and cartwheels. Good luck with Austin. Cali felt pretty good and thats why it was so hard to keep her still. I am glad you guys are getting it all taken care of now, it will be so worth it all in the end. Love you guys.

7 sets??! I've never heard of such a thing! I'm so sorry. We had to do 2 sets with Adri. Her nutritionist told me to take milk and cheese out of her diet because they make their glands sucrete more muchos(sp) That really made a huge difference. We do still have to sleep with a hot pad on her ear sometimes but no infections, nothing like before. I hope Austin starts feeling better. He looks really bad!
